Summary
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for managing the PlayNetwork brand and communications, driving demand generation and overall awareness activities. To be successful in this role, you will be a results-oriented individual and enjoy working in a growing company where the environment is both relaxed and fast paced so initiatives change and evolve quickly. Responsibilities include the ability to develop and coach partners and staff, development of the overall brand strategy, hands-on implementation of all key Marketing functions and projects, and development of key metrics to propose and implement on-going program improvements.
Additionally, the Director, Marketing will lead internal efforts to ensure the PlayNetwork brand is properly positioned through all collateral, design, and communication touch points. All marketing efforts for the company’s should reflect our unique culture and core brand attributes.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Director, Marketing position. This list is not all-inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs.
- Develop and maintain consistent PlayNetwork Brand strategy and positioning including socialization and deployment throughout the organization
- Partner with key internal teams including Executive Management, Sales, Marketing, and others to ensure consistent brand messaging
- Drive innovative and creative strategies that increase awareness, customer engagement, and lead acquisition which results in improved sales and lead conversion
- Execute all aspects of integrated marketing plan, including advertising development and media placement, promotions, events marketing communications, sponsorships/partnerships, online marketing, sales support, etc.
- Develop annual marketing plan based on marketing objectives and strategies. Align marketing needs with business strategy through the strategic planning process
- Track performance, including ROI, of specific initiatives and the overall marketing program
- Develop and manage marketing budget and staff
- Work collaboratively cross-functionally with other senior level managers in the organization (e.g. Account Management, Strategy, Technology, Creative, etc.) to identify and resolve any business issues
- Cultivate, develop, and direct agency relationships
- Demonstrate expertise in and knowledge of SEM, SEO, display, affiliate and email marketing, media planning/buying, and industry trends
Experience/Education
- BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA a plus
- Prior experience working in a management role and a minimum of 8 years of marketing experience, with 3-5 years in people management
- Proven ability to think strategically, create and deliver presentations and high-level business case justifications
- Prior experience managing PR agency relationship required
- Proven track record of building high performance teams through strong hiring practices and dedication to performance management, training and retention initiatives; the ability to lead, mentor and empower teams
- Demonstrable skills and knowledge in financial management and budgeting
- Extensive writing experience – press releases, collateral, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to collaborate with management peers inside and outside marketing
- Has a strong sense of the external environment and the competitive landscape
Required Skills and Abilities
- Experience across traditional branding channels (on and offline) with a passion for digital media
- Demonstrated ability to integrate creative and strategic planning into cohesive communications planning that builds brands, drives traffic, gets results, and has a "wow" factor
- Entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for building business, and the ability to work across a matrix environment
- Dynamic, Innovative marketer with strong analytical skills, business acumen and industry presence
- Excellent oral and written presentation/persuasion and negotiation skills
- Background in design, communications and brand strategy.
