Bally Total Fitness

Objective: Bally Total fitness, a nationwide health club chain was seeking a systems integration provider who specializes in design build integration to provide an innovative and dynamic, turnkey sound system flexible for its 400 locations nationwide.

Insight: Recognizing the complexities of equipping a health club for sound systems, PlayNetwork sought to create a solution that reached all needs and areas of the club, that was simple to manage, and maximized performance in all uses. This meant considering several levels of interactivity, transparency in solution, and meeting the various acoustic challenges within the club.

Innovation: Through our award winning GIGS® program PlayNetwork engineered a unique design approach to meet the complexities of a multi-use, multi-dimensional space by carefully considering space, sound level requirements, and optimizing quality with the best components for each need. At the core, sub-satellite systems were utilized for optimum sound performance. A network of wireless headsets were folded in for separate and simultaneous live play by trainers, and each area was measured for and delivered a unique solution. Complex on the back end, a simple end user interface was installed for managers and staff to keep user error low, and further maximize the overall sound system performance.

Result: By keeping it simple on the user end Bally’s has enjoyed a champion end-to-end sound system that offers full capability in the club and ease of use by staff, promoting the longevity and integrity of the sound, while protecting the system performance and through GIGS®, thorough documentation has been developed ensuring a consistent and powerful sound system site to site.
