We’ll miss you, Tom

Last Friday night, the music scene in Seattle lost one of its most talented members.  Live sound and recording engineer Tom Pfaeffle was fatally shot at a motel in Eastern Washington when he inadvertently tried to enter the wrong room.

Over his 30 year career in the music industry, Tom worked with numerous bands both in the studio and on tour including Nirvana, Heart, The Black Crowes, Queensryche, Aerosmith, Great White, B.B. King and Alice Copper.  Tom also owned and operated The Tank studio in Black Diamond, WA.

In addition to his live sound and studio work, Tom taught Audio Production classes at The Art Institute of Seattle.  The vast majority of people currently working in the audio industry in Seattle have been taught by Tom Pfaeffle.

Tom leaves behind his wife and two children and countless friends and admirers in Seattle and beyond.

A memorial for Tom will be held at the Moore Theater on August 13th in Seattle.  A specific time has not been set, but it will be in the evening.
